Honeywell has signed an agreement with the State of San Luis Potosi that will create 600 new Honeywell jobs in Mexico through 2018. These employees will provide support for the company’s corporate offices and Automation and Control Solutions, a world leader in environmental controls, energy management systems, life safety devices, fire and security systems, sensors, and scanners. These technologies provide comfort, safety, security and energy efficiency to millions of buildings and hundreds of millions of people around the world.

“Honeywell has a long and proud history in Mexico, with 13 manufacturing sites, three engineering centers and four offices located here,” said Mark James, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Procurement and Communications. “Mexico has a bright future, and Honeywell is thrilled to be part of it. I look forward to our ongoing collaboration and our ability to achieve great things in San Luis Potosi.”

Honeywell began building its presence in Mexico in 1947, and opened a facility in San Luis Potosi in 1975. Today, the company employs 17,000 people in Mexico, making it the second-largest base of Honeywell employees globally. The event was attended by Gustavo Puente Orozco, Secretary of Economic Development; Manuel Lozano, Secretary of Labor; and Maria Antonieta Valdez, Director of Industrial Promotion.

“For the State Government, it is our commitment to provide incentives within reach so that more and more companies are aligned with San Luis Potosi in order to build the economic and social prosperity that we all desire,” said Secretary Puente. “All these efforts contribute to the improvement of our economic indicators: the State’s GDP, the availability of well-paid jobs, and a better quality of life, which will allow San Luis Potosi to build a better quality future for all its inhabitants.”
