Honeywell Provides Dedicated Space for Hands-On Learning

More than 700 elementary students in South Bend, Ind., have a new place to explore science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) thanks to Honeywell Hometown Solutions (HHS), the company’s corporate citizenship initiative.

The first-of-its-kind Honeywell MakerSpace was revealed to the community at a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony March 1 at the Success Academy of South Bend. Indiana Gov. Mike Pence joined Honeywell South Bend site leader Dean Palmer and employee volunteers in the grand opening.

“We are excited to partner with the Success Academy to promote education focused on STEM principles and interactive learning,” said Palmer. “For more than 95 years Honeywell has been proud to employ some of the area’s brightest minds and we are pleased to support Success Academy with the donation of a Honeywell MakerSpace.”
