Honeywell safety products used for emergency response, hazmat safety, head protection and hearing protection were judged by a panel of independent engineers as winners in their categories for their “ability to improve workplace safety.”
“It’s an honor to win four best new product awards from Occupational Health and Safety,” said John Montigny, president of Honeywell Industrial Safety. “These awards are a testament to our passion and commitment to worker safety through innovative design and strong focus on user experience.”
Honeywell took honors in:
TITAN™ self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) – Honeywell First Responder
Noteworthy: First SCBA for first responders with wireless connectivity and two motion sensors that increase safety while decreasing false alarms.
MultiRAE Benzene wireless gas detector – Honeywell RAE Systems
Noteworthy: Industry’s only photoionization (PID) sensor that can differentiate among gas types to record a snapshot of a benzene-specific gas leak; a great boon for safety at refineries, wastewater plants and other hazardous industries.
North Zone hard hat – Honeywell
Noteworthy: Multiple adjustment points on the internal part of the hard hat allow workers to customize hat size, height and snugness for a personalized fit that increases safety and comfort on the job.
TrustFit Pod™ push-in earplug – Howard Leight by Honeywell
Noteworthy: Better-fitting hearing protector uses a patented soft foam that collapses easily within the ear canal for a custom fit and superior protection against noise-induced hearing loss.
“Being recognized for product excellence by the OH&S awards program showcases the highest quality, innovative safety products being used in industry today and reinforces our magazine’s commitment to help bring them to wider market acceptance,” said Jerry Laws, editor of Occupational Health and Safety.
The company was recognized for the awards at the National Safety Council Congress & Expo October 17, 2016 in Anaheim, California.
