AZ - 252 Advanced Air Data Computer (AADC) |
 |
Honeywell designed and certified its highly successful SPZ - 500 flight controls system in the 1970s and continues to support this system on Citations and King Airs. Because we best understand the performance requirements for these aircraft, we have developed a new air data computer (ADC), the AZ - 252, to meet the new, stringent requirements of flight in Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) airspace. While the AZ - 252 ADC provides a RVSM solution for a broad number of aircraft types, it is the first step in achieving a RVSM aircraft type approval for Citations and King Airs. The key factor necessary for such an approval is the replacement of the existing ADCs found on these aircraft. The AZ - 252 is that replacement. The AZ - 252 provides operators with a straight-forward and effective solution for RVSM compliance by combining Honeywell’s leading-edge sensor technology and experience in air data applications. |
Key benefits of the AZ - 252 include:
 | | Form factor compatibility with the AZ - 241 mount | | | Pin-compatibility with the existing AZ - 241 connector | | | Use of a second 106 pin connector which allows optional system enhancements | | | Support of the SPZ - 500 AFCS interface for accurate altitude hold / pre-select capability | | | Incorporation of a precision silicon pressure sensor (as used in the highly accurate, reliable, and stable AZ - 840/850 Micro Air Data Computers) for RVSM compliance | | | Decreased weight and power consumption | | | Cost of ownership reduction by means of a higher reliability product | | | Supports the replacement of VN - 212 / AL - 285 Analog Controllers |
Aircraft Supported:
 | | Citation Model 500/501/550/551/560 | | | Citation I/ II/ SII/ V | | | Learjet 35/35A/36/36A |
