Honeywell’s 131-9[A] Series Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) is the latest member of our 131-9 family of APUs, specifically designed for single-aisle aircraft. APUs are small jet engines that provide compressed air for main engine starting, air conditioning and electrical power on the ground or in flight. |
Our 131-9[A] Series APU was designed specifically to match the requirements of air transport aircraft, and applies to the Airbus A319, A320 and A321. The unit will start and operate to 41,000 feet, delivering 154 pounds of air per minute at 52 pounds-per-square-inch for environmental control systems and main engine starting. Its generator is capable of supplying full electrical power for the aircraft in the event of an emergency.
The 131-9[A] APU produces its rated power with lower exhaust gas temperature than previous designs, and test units were run for more than 21,000 hours before placing any APUs in service. When service is needed, all line-replaceable units in the 131-9 can be removed and replaced in the field in 15 minutes or less. |
