Boeing MD- 90 |
 |
The MD-90 advanced avionics and integrated cockpit comprise several familiar systems integrated into a flight management concept that provides automatic thrust and guidance control for the full flight regime, including a fail passive Category IIIA autoland system.
The MD-90 concept utilizes two identical, autonomous Digital Flight Guidance Computers (DFGCs). One computer at a time is selected for control of the airplane. A glareshield-mounted Flight Guidance Control Panel (FGCP) allows the flight crew to enter flight mode control inputs to the autopilot, flight director, autothrottle and altitude advisory functions of the selected DFGC.
