BAE-146 |
 |
The BAe 146 Digital Flight Guidance System (DFGS) provides automatic flight and throttle control throughout the aircraft’s operating envelope. The DFGS has the capability to be installed in either a single Flight Guidance Computer (FGC) or a dual FGC configuration. The single computer system provides fail passive integrity suitable for Category 3 low weather operations.
The DFGS is designed to provide the same operational characteristics in either the single or dual FGC installations. The dual configuration operates with one FGC active and the second FGC available as a "hot standby". The design is capable of being upgraded to a dual computing system to provide fail operational integrity for Category 3 operations to lower minima. The Digital Flight Guidance System is comprised of a Flight Guidance Computer, Mode Control Panel (MCP), Thrust Rating Panel (TRP), and actuator servos and sensors.
