 FANS Capability and Advanced Features
Honeywell introduced the Future Air Navigation System functions first in the Boeing B747, leading the way for industry advancement and FANS features on all new aircraft.
Continual improvement in FMS features fine tune the benefit gains on this aircraft. Using shared navigation databases and common operations with many other Boeing aircraft, the FMS reduces the pilot workload while maintaining minimum training transitions.
The long haul B747 relies heavily on the accuracy and cost benefit of the world standard Honeywell FMS technology. Decades of service have proven that airlines can rely on this full spectrum navigation package, evolving to handle significant changes in airspace and changes.
