Users of Honeywell surface vehicle products benefit from the experience of many years in service for the U.S. Army and military forces around the world. The MAPS system provides very high performance where needed, and the TALIN™ product line affords a great deal of flexibility to acquire the exact level of accuracy needed for a broad array of surface vehicle applications.
Tactical Advanced Land Inertial Navigator (TALIN™) The Tactical Advanced Land Inertial Navigator or TALIN™ family of products is adapted from high-volume airborne inertial system components and is used for combat vehicle applications. TALIN™ provides continuous, self-contained, accurate location and pointing information for enhanced situational awareness, far target location, target acquisition, weapons pointing and sensor pointing. The TALIN™ family ranges from low-cost devices used to provide position information when GPS is not available, to high-performance applications requiring precise survey positioning and targeting. The modular product line architecture means users can buy the performance required and scale up or down as requirements and mission needs dictate.
Modular Navigation and Reconnaissance System (MONA) The modular navigation and reconnaissance system (MONA) is a mobile, multiple sensor platform for observation, artillery survey and target acquisition. It can be used for man-portable or vehicle-based missions. Target detection is performed with a thermal camera combined with a laser range finder. A display is used to read out target coordinates from a full performance inertial navigation system with optional GPS receiver. MONA is the first fully integrated observation system for missions that require extremely high mobility.
Digital Rotation Sensor (DDS) The DDS converts vehicle odometer cable shaft revolutions into pulse trains representing forward and reverse vehicle motion.
The DDS is a very reliable, simple device that is mechanically coupled to the odometer output of the vehicle transmission. It will send one pulse to the Inertial Navigation Unit (INU) for approximately every two inches of distance traveled. The INU accumulates these pulses over time and converts them to a velocity that is used to damp the inertial velocity errors.
Along Track Navigation Honeywell’s Along Track Navigation Product (ATNP) is a sensor-based module configurable to meet various customer requirements. The product is capable of providing various degrees of accuracy and position robustness based on DGPS measurement signal availability.
Applications include transit systems such as railroads, light rail, buses and trucking. |
