New Technologies for production of brake pads

| Green Friction Coating for Commercial Vehicles | | | Disc brake pads: Gaining an advantage through new technologies.
Technologies with which we make our products fit for the future market. A high initial friction coefficient is a basic requirement for commercial vehicle manufacturers. This is of particular importance for HGVs and trailers.
JURID brake pads for the commercial vehicle sector fulfill this demand by means of a coating on the rubbing surface, which is being patented. With this, a high initial friction coefficient is even achieved on brake pads that have not been run-in. |
| Metlock | | | On disc brake pads, the bond between the backplate and the friction material can be achieved through various processes.
By using organic adhesives or rubber based bonding foils. The temperature resistance of both processes is limited.
For this reason, JURID uses a patented bonding process, namely “metlock®“ for stresses above 400 °C between the carrier and friction material. This consists of an extremely coarse structured coating, that is sintered on to the backplate. In this structure, the friction material is compressed directly without adhesive. A positive, high temperature stabile bond, is created between the friction material and the sintered surface.
All disc brake pads for commercial vehicles are produced with this bond. Over 25,000,000 pads have already been produced by this process. |
