Honeywell history in Czech Republic
History
1962 – Commercial representation established in Prague as an outlet of Honeywell Austria affiliation

1991 – Foundation and registration of a standalone business unit Honeywell Service & Engineering s.r.o. to foster and implement customer solutions and aftermarket services.

1993 – Within the framework of Honeywell Service & Engineering s.r.o. established reseach and development unit, nowadays Honeywell Prague Laboratory, which became the first R&D Honeywell unit outside the United States territory

1995 – Merger of the both existing entties under Honeywell spol. s r.o. umbrella connected in the same time with fundamental enlargement of activities for building and industrial automation

2001 – As a part of Ademco company acquisition Honeywell acquired Ademco branch in Brno, a manufacturer of components for security systems

2002 – Acquired an aviation company Mora Aerospace a.s., a manufacturer of components for aircraft engines (Honeywell Aerospace Olomouc s.r.o. today)

2002 – As a part of Invensys Controls acquisition Honeyewell acquired Invensys Controls branch in Brno, a sensor manufacturer for automotive industry

2003 – Foundation of Global Design Center in Brno (current HTSL-Brno) aiming to strengthen technology potential of the company – project received “Investor of the Year 2002” award in the category of investments mostly enhancing qualified labor

2003 – Honeywell takes over the former Flextronics facility in Brno to foster further expansion in the region making thus Brno an important manufacturing and technology hub

2003 – Acquired Olympo company in Brno, a distributor of integrated security solutions

Currently corporation Honeywell employs over 1,600 employees in the Czech Republic. Honewell presence includes Prague, Brno, Olomouc and Ostrava.
