How much will my security system cost?
Costs will vary. Based upon a security evaluation of your home, your local authorized dealer will work with you to design a system within your budget specifically to meet the needs of your home and family.

Will a central station monitor my security system?
Yes. In order to maximize the benefits of your security system, you need to have a monitoring agreement with your local authorized dealer.

How long is the monitoring agreement?
Most monitoring agreements are for a period of three years, however, this can vary from dealer to dealer.

What does monitoring cost?
Monitoring rates are set by each dealer and vary in different parts of the country. Your local authorized dealer will advise you of their rates and will discuss different payment options with you.

Are maintenance agreements available?
They are available from your local authorized dealer. The cost is usually a small addition to the monitoring fee.

Who do I pay for the system?
You will pay your local authorized dealer directly.

What if there is a problem with the system?
Simply contact your local authorized dealer who will promptly address any problems you have. The dealer who installed your system provides all service.

What is included in a security system?
A security system includes a control panel, a keypad, and usually a variety of sensors or transmitters placed strategically throughout the home. Your local authorized dealer will recommend what is needed to properly secure your home.

Who will be installing my security system?
Your security system will be installed, serviced and monitored by one of our authorized dealers. Our authorized dealer network consists of 350 companies with 500 locations throughout North America. These are independent alarm companies who operate reliable businesses. All have met the stringent requirements to be accepted into our network, their personnel have been extensively trained, and they share our commitment to life safety and community service.

What is the difference between a Honeywell authorized security dealer and a First Alert Professional authorized dealer?
There is no difference. They belong to the same exclusive dealer network. Over fifteen years ago, the First Alert Professional network was started by Pittway Corporation. Following Honeywells acquisition of Pittway a few years ago, the decision was made to give the dealer members of both networks the opportunity to use both the Honeywell and First Alert Professional brand names.

If I have smoke detectors in my home, why should I add fire protection to my security system?
Who will hear your smoke detectors when youre not home? Only monitored smoke detectors those that are part of your home security system can send a signal to the central station when a fire breaks out, assuring that help will be on the way before its too late.

What is AlarmNet?
AlarmNet is a service that provides your system with an even higher level of security. Advanced cellular communications allow important signals to get through to the central station even in the event of phone lines being damaged or intentionally cut. In the event that you no longer have a traditional landline phone in your home and use cellular only, AlarmNet can provide security communications, thereby allowing your system to communicate alarm signals to the central station.
