As part of the competency and training framework, mentoring is also a key issue at HTSL. Mentoring is aimed at developing latent potential of Honeywell employees. Mentoring helps people to tackle situations at work and negotiate their way forward. At HTSL, mentoring also increases the bond that employees share with their peers and colleagues. It helps give employees a better understanding of concepts such as teamwork, flexibility, responsibility, delegation of work as well how to take success and failure in their stride while at the same time moving forward.

The Mentoring at HTS on various challenging competencies such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has enhanced my knowledge immensely. Besides, whenever I faced challenges in my work, my mentor pitches in at the right time and provides a suitable solution, which makes my job easier. My mentor is a great motivator! His motivation and mentoring always helps me to provide quality solutions to partners and gain their appreciation. HTS mentoring has given me an opportunity to share what I have learnt from my professors in the college and leaders in work place. It is a joy to see the younger ones grow and be a part of this process. I must confess that during these sessions I was able to look at the same concepts and ideas from new perspectives. There are certain niceties that one cannot learn from books or training courses and there are times where you need the pat on the back (when things don't go well) from some one experienced - there is no alternative for this and I believe that this is the gap as mentors we fill in.
