| This section contains a number of very valuable tools, which can help you solve your packaging challenges. We have developed these tools specifically for our customers to help with barrier material selection process as well as provide guidelines for successful WVTR and stability testing programs using Aclar® laminates.

There are currently three tools available:
The Aclar-CFF calculator allows you to compare the total cost advantages that thermoforming offers over Cold Form Foil (CFF) for pharmaceutical packaging. We have developed a calculator to show the savings in terms of material cost due to the increased packaging density possible with a thermoformed package; the reduced labor costs since with thermoforming, you can package more tablets in a shorter timeframe; and the reduced capital spend since you need to invest in few machines since thermoforming increases your capacity per machine. The calculator allows you too input your own cost numbers and calculate to Total Cost benefit of thermoforming over Cold Form Foil packaging.
The Barrier Calculator helps you determine the precise moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) of a blister designed exactly for the dosage form of your product. The results will tell you the rate in milligrams per day at each of the ICH conditions -25°C/60%RH, 30°C/60%RH and 40°C/75%RH - as well as at the European standard of 38°C/90%RH.
Lastly, the Aclar® Films Best Practices Guidelines for Package Development and Testing Programs provides resources on to help you with speeding up your development of today’s drugs and therapeutics. Speed-to-market is a critical issue in the development of today’s drugs and therapeutics. You have invested too much time and money developing new products to have your introduction slowed by inaccurate MVTR or Stability Test results. This publication provides “Best Practice” guidelines for Stability and MVTR testing programs. |
