|  As the first FAA-certified system for commercial air transport, Honeywell’s On-Board Inert Gas Generation System (OBIGGS) technology cost-effectively reduces the probability of fuel tank explosions in aircraft through a lightweight, highly reliable system. To minimize the prospect of ignition in the fuel tank’s flammable fuel-air mixture, OBIGGS uses air separation modules to remove oxygen from process air and delivers less combustible, nitrogen-enriched air into the tank. The nitrogen displaces the fuel-air mixture and reduces the likelihood of an explosion or fire. |
