The company has a long history in China that goes back to 1935. When China opened the door to its economy in 1983, the company was among the first to act up a representative office in Beijing. The company’s success in China is built on a foundation of partnership with the government and local industry, an in-depth understanding of customer requirements, unmatched technology leadership and a commitment to the highest standards of customer service. Today, Honeywell is an active participant in the local economy with an investment holding company supporting 21 active Honeywell subsidiaries and joint ventures within China. The company has a presence in 12 cities across the country through its subsidiaries, branch offices and research centers and a staff population of more than 4,000 strong. China will play an increasingly important strategic role to Honeywell's global success. Honeywell relocated its Asia Pacific Headquarters to Shanghai in June 2003. The Asia Pacific Headquarters office and R&D Center officially opened in November 2004. This is a major milestone in our journey and a strong signal of our commitment in China. At the China market grows, Honeywell is poised to grow with it through the expansion of its operations and new investments in this dynamic market. |
