Specialty Materials R&D

Established in October 2004, Honeywell Specialty Materials' Asia Technology Center is located in Honeywell Asia Pacific headquarters in Zhangjiang High-Tech Park, Shanghai Pudong New Area.

By providing technical services, research and development of technology and applications, as well as technical marketing, the center supports Specialty Materials’ growth, especially in Asia-Pacific region.

The center is one of five Specialty Materials Centers of Research Excellence in the world and the only one in Asia. It has analytical, applications and synthesis laboratories, as well as equipment for the development and testing of new products. The center provides technical support for Specialty Materials businesses in the region, including refrigerants, specialty additives and electronic materials.

The Asia Technology Center has established a collaborative relationship with noted universities such as Fudan University, Donghua University, Tsinghua University and Tianjin University and collaborates with leading Chinese companies in the air conditioning, polymer processing and semiconductor manufacturing industries, among others. In addition to supporting sales and manufacturing, the center is designed to leverage the tremendous talent and resources available in China.
