  1. TACR ALFA TA01020871 "Advanced Control and Optimization of Biofuels Co-firing for Power and Energy" (2011-2013)

    Main project results:

    - Software "Plant Topology Reference Model (PTRM)." PTRM is a software component for specifying streams-and-units topology of a power plant and storing models of units including adaptation according to process data. PTRM is licensed as a component of Profit Suite AES (Advanced Energy Solution) program package.

    - Software "Inferential Sensor (InSens)". InSens is a software component for estimation of fuel bed inventory and fuel heating value. InSens is licensed as a component of Profit Suite AES (Advanced Energy Solution) program package.

  2. TACR ALFA TA01030170 "Systematic Design of Control Systems and Optimization for Internal Combustion Engines" (2011-2013)

    Main project results


    - Software "Component Library for DOC, SCR and DPF Modeling". It's a library of catalyst models for automotive applications. The library contains a set of several variants of Control Oriented Models of DOC and SCR systems. The models can be used to create, simulate and analyze typical configurations of aftertreatment systems of turbocharged diesel engines. The software is provided as a toolbox for Simulink.     - Software "Calibration Tools for Aftertreatment Models". It’s configurable software used for identification of aftertreatment models. It supports identification of all models from "Component library for modeling DOC, SCR and DPF" which is a Simulink library provided by Honeywell, spol. s.r.o. company. It can be customized for other libraries or models as well. The software is a toolbox for Matlab. More information can be found here.

    - Software "Fast QP Solver with Simple Constraints". Fast QP solver is suitable for any real-time control applications running on industrial embedded computational platforms. The solver can handle simple (or box) constraints and is implemented in C language using single-precision floating-point arithmetic. It can be used as a core optimization algorithm for steady-state and transient operation. A typical application may be a real-time optimization and control system for diesel engines with aftertreatment, vehicle control, etc. The solver may be used as a core optimization routine for Model based Predictive Control (MPC).   3. TACR ALFA TA03021023 "Heat Pumps Advanced Control and Process Optimization" (2013-2015) 
Main project results:

- Functional prototype “Advanced Heat Pump Controller” is a microcontroller that implements multivariable predictive control and setpoint optimization techniques to achieve efficient operation of Heat Pumps.

      4. TACR ALFA TA03010818 “Application of Modern Cryptographical Methods to Increase Communication Security in Telematics Systems” (2013-2015)

Main project results:

- Software “SecuredModBus software modules”. SecuredModBus (SMB) is an extension of the industrial automation protocol Modbus that adds authentication, authorization and confidentiality to the protocol while preserving backward compatibility with Modbus specification. These software modules include ANSI C libraries for SMB master and SMB slave and a C# library for SMB master.

- Functional prototype “Gas fired storage water heater controller with secure communication” is a water heater controller with slave SecuredModBus (SMB) interface on a serial line. This prototype is based around a low-power and low-memory MSP430 microcontroller. The SMB implementation is highly memory optimized and provides only core SMB functionalities.

- Functional prototype “Industrial gas valve controller with secure communication” is a gas valve controller with slave SecuredModBus (SMB) interface on a serial line. The prototype is based around an ARM Cortex-M microcontroller that allows implementation of all SMB functionalities.

- Functional prototype “HVAC controller implementing anonymous authentication and secure communication”. This prototype is based around an ARM9 microcontroller with both serial and Ethernet interfaces. It can serve as a SecuredModBus (SMB) master capable of communication with several SMB slaves, and also as a client of an anonymous authentication scheme based on group signatures over a secure channel.

Main project results:

- Functional sample “Basic control strategy of Airpath for SI engines”. The OnRAMP DS has been extended for all required components (e.g. model library) required for designing the controller for turbocharged gasoline engines. The functionality has been developed during the project and validated in the test cell in Brno testing facility based on ETAS ES1000 unit, using INTECRIO SW. The created test cell environment will be used for future development and customer projects.
