Honeywell’s Sustainable Opportunity Policy is based on the principle that by integrating health, safety, and environmental considerations into all aspects of its business, Honeywell protects its people, its communities, and the environment; achieves sustainable growth and accelerated productivity; drives compliance with all applicable regulations; and develops technologies that expand the sustainable capacity of our world.
Honeywell’s Sustainable Opportunity Policy is deliberately and directly embedded into our company-wide Honeywell Operating System (HOS), the Company’s blueprint for continuous, sustainable operational improvement. The policy is endorsed annually by Honeywell’s CEO and senior leadership. The policy is posted in every facility and communicated to all employees and contractors.
Since 2010, our facilities have implemented more than 3,600 efficiency projects including building automation/controls, lighting, and mechanical upgrades. We have increased our energy efficiency by about 60 percent (2004 - 2017).
The Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental, Product Stewardship and Sustainability (HSEPS) Management practices are managed by a global team of trained professionals with extensive knowledge and hundreds of years of collective experience.
We utilize a comprehensive HSEPS Management System based on third-party-certified standards, including ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, and industry best practices, which is fully integrated into HOS. Compliance is monitored through an HSEPS-led audit process. The timely development and implementation of process improvement and corrective action plans are closely monitored.
Honeywell’s Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT) business is a participant in the Responsible Care program of the American Chemistry Council. Responsible Care is a global, voluntary initiative developed by the chemical industry that drives continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance, together with open and transparent communications with stakeholders.
Our PMT Headquarters have been certified RC-14001 by an external ISO registrar since 2005.
