Honeywell CEO Dave Cote Featured in Financial Times
June 25, 2014
Honeywell Chairman and CEO Dave Cote was recently interviewed by Financial Times managing editor Martin Dickson for his View from the Top column. During the interview, Cote discussed his perspective on the global economy in addition to other topics specific to his leadership at Honeywell.
For example, Cote discussed his approach to creating a cohesive culture at Honeywell when he first became CEO in 2002, including the priorities:
“One of them was to say, what do we want our culture to be? One of the most important things we did was to get people focused on something outside Honeywell. We said, ‘okay, we are going to start talking about everything in terms of the customer.’”
He also gave perspective of Honeywell’s future M&A interests:
“In general, anything that‘s a bolt-on to what we already do,” Cote said. “But I don‘t mind looking at newer areas – places that we are just starting to get into.” He specifically discussed aerospace connectivity, as well as the controls business as two very desirable fields.
