Honeywell Fellows Recognized by The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD)

The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) recently acknowledged the success of two of its Honeywell Fellows for rising to the top levels of leadership in the legal progression. The LCLD Fellows Program is a developmental program for high potential lawyers. To date, 13 Honeywell attorneys have been named LCLD Fellows. In addition, Honeywell has hosted learning events for the LCLD Fellows.
Valeria Chapa-Garza, a 2013 Fellow, was promoted in December to Honeywell Vice President & General Counsel, Latin America, reporting directly to Kate Adams, Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Valeria was recently chosen as a Top 100 Woman Worth Watching by Diversity Journal. She was selected based on her passion, potential, impressive accomplishments, and for serving as a role model to females in the legal profession. Valeria has launched an innovative program for women lawyers in Mexico that pairs senior lawyers with junior lawyers. She also co-founded Abogadas MX, which aims to increase the representation of women in law through professional development, networking, and leadership opportunities. Valeria has been recognized by the Latin American Corporate Counsel Association as one of the most inspiring female corporate counsels working in the region.
Valeria is a member of Honeywell’s Law and Government Relations (LGR) Diversity & Inclusion Council, which focuses on developing, retaining, and attracting diverse talent in legal and government relations.
Martina Sailer, a 2014 Fellow, in December received a promotion to Honeywell General Counsel Americas for the Environmental and Energy Solutions business supporting the Commercial and Smart Energy businesses. Prior to her new role, Martina was Assistant General Counsel at Honeywell. Since joining Honeywell in 2010, Martina has served as the Assistant General Counsel for the Environmental and Combustion Controls business unit and also provided significant support to the Honeywell Connected Home business.
Martina is a member of the LGR Diversity & Inclusion Council, serving as the Chair of the Secondment Committee and an active participant on the Law and Government Relations Diversity Interest Network Committee. In addition, she is a member of the finance committee of the YWCA of Minneapolis, whose mission is to eliminate racism and empower women and girls. Martina, who is based in Golden Valley, MN, also coaches junior alpine ski racers at a grassroots program, the Buck Hill Ski Racing Team.
