    Meet a #futureshaper: Gustavo Galambos

He's supporting customers in their digital transformation.

Gustavo Galambos has been with Honeywell for 32 years.

When he first started in 1988, he had planned on a technical career path.

Now, he is a Honeywell Process Solutions sales director and general manager. In that role, he leads a team that makes industries more efficient by providing solutions that make plant assets and employees more productive and safer.

Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina; here is his #futureshaper story.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I was interested in being a scientist

    What brought you to Honeywell?

After 10 years of working in research at the Atomic Energy Agency in Argentina, I accepted a system engineer role in March of 1988 at Honeywell to participate in the TDC 3000 launch in Argentina. I installed the first system sold in Argentina in the refining and chemical market.

What gets you excited about going to work every day?

Being part of a very motivated team who enjoys business growth and understanding the customers’ business, their markets and collaborating in value generation through Honeywell technologies.

If you were a fortune reader, what would you predict as the future of your industry?

I believe the business models we have now will change. Customers will no longer acquire assets, instead solutions will be provided as a service and payments will be tied to performance.

I see markets like oil and gas and mining moving to remote operations and unmanned assets. Artificial Intelligence will be applied to support decision processes at any level.

Global warming will accelerate the adoption of new sources of energy; everything will be connected. Smart cities will be fact.

In your eyes, what qualities does a #futureshaper possess?

A #futureshaper has an interest in understanding all there is to know about life and is an unbeaten visionary.

What advice would you give someone who wants to follow in your footsteps?

    Follow your dreams.

When you are not working, what do you do for fun?

When I am not working, I enjoy fishing and sailing.
