Stevie Awards Recognize Honeywell's Humanitarian Relief in CO
October 30, 2014
Honeywell Hometown Solutions (HHS) was honored once again by the Stevies Awards organization, this time winning two International Business Silver Stevie Awards for its Honeywell Humanitarian Relief efforts after the Colorado wildfires. HHS was recognized with the Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year in Canada and the U.S., and for the Communications or PR Campaign/Program of the Year in Community.
In 2012 and 2013, the Colorado Springs community was severely impacted after the devastating Waldo Canyon and Black Forest wildfires. Each year Honeywell provided displaced employees with immediate financial assistance to help cope with food and clothing needs, temporary living arrangements and long-term home repairs. The company also lent support for overall rebuilding efforts throughout the community.
In October 2013 Honeywell donated more than $250,000 in first responder equipment, including Honeywell gloves, boots, hoods and Morning Pride turnout gear and helmets, to replace outdated gear at six volunteer fire departments in the region. The company also provided cash donations to six additional volunteer fire companies that battled the Colorado Springs wildfires. As a result, these firefighters will be able to perform their jobs more safely thanks to the HHS support and contributions.
The Stevie® Awards are the world's premier business awards. They were created in 2002 to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide. For 2014 official results, please click here.
