Honeywell Technology Helps Keep Seattle Seahawks "12th Man" Fans Outfitted Quickly & Efficiently

The countdown to the big game has begun. The Seahawks and Patriots are in Arizona preparing for Sunday, and their fans across the country are moving on from endless discussions about “Deflate-gate” to planning viewing party menus and making sure their lucky jerseys and hats are ready.
NFL merchandising sales are big business. The Seattle Times featured a list of top-selling teams and players between April 1, 2013 and February 28, 2014, and this year’s final two teams were among the most popular. Seattle’s Russell Wilson had the highest-selling jersey, but New England’s Tom Brady was not far behind in the fourth spot. The Seahawks took the top spot as a team, with the Patriots at number five.
NFL teams across the country do their best to make sure their fans are outfitted with the latest team colors and styles. In NFL pro shops, every home game is like Black Friday with a limited amount of time to sell as much merchandise as possible. To meet this challenge, the Seattle Seahawks and their sister team, the Seattle Sounders Football Club of Major League Soccer (MLS), are using Honeywell scanning technology to help their fans quickly get the team gear and souvenirs they want.
The Seahawks Pro Shop uses Honeywell’s Captuvo SL22 enterprise sleds, which transform an Apple® iPod Touch® into mobile retail magic, along with technology from eMobilePOS and POStive Technology. The device scans barcodes and processes payments anywhere in the store to keep checkout lines short and get fans back to the game.
