Calling All Middle School Teachers: Honeywell Now Accepting Applications for Green Boot Camp 2015
February 18, 2015
Now through March 20, middle school teachers can begin applying for the seventh annual Green Boot Camp, which will take place June 21-25, 2015, in San Diego, Calif. Just as students are beginning their summer vacations, participating teachers will begin their own fun as part of an exciting learning opportunity made possible by this four-day interactive workshop, sponsored by Honeywell.
Open to teachers from around the world, Green Boot Camp brings together educators to share best practices for teaching energy, sustainability and environmental concepts in middle school — a critical time when students decide if they will pursue math and science educational paths. The workshop turns educators into students themselves, presenting a hands-on curriculum to inspire these choices and covering concepts ranging from solar cars to water conservation. Participants are also able to share and collaborate with their fellow teachers, helping further plant seeds for sustainability lessons in the classroom.
Green Boot Camp is part of Honeywell’s commitment to supporting science and math education. Teachers interested in learning more can visit the Green Boot Camp site, which includes video footage from past events, and those interested in attending can apply online.
