Honeywell Responds to EPA, DOT Greenhouse Gas and Fuel Efficiency Standards Proposal for Heavy-Duty Trucks
June 23, 2015
Honeywell supports the efforts of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase fuel economy in the commercial trucking industry. Honeywell is confident in its ability to support its customers with both proven and innovative technologies that help save fuel and reduce harmful emissions while also providing attractive and tangible end-user payback.
Honeywell appreciates that the process to develop the proposed standards has been inclusive of stakeholders, building on the success of Phase 1. The EPA’s proposed three-phase approach allows for meaningful near-term results as well as long-term regulatory stability necessary for the industry to confidently invest in technology development. We look forward to continuing that engagement with all other interested parties that meet the objectives of these enhanced standards.
