Honeywell was proud to be a platinum sponsor of the conference, showcasing the Company's commitment to diversity and inclusion. The Company believes that a diverse workforce creates more and new opportunities and leads to more effective decision making. To Honeywell, diversity is broader than race and gender. An inclusive workforce encourages diversity of opportunity, diversity of opinion, diversity of thought, diversity of background, and global diversity. We also have a strong and growing global Women's Council that is focused on increasing visibility of women throughout our organization. We are proud of that growing track record and of the women on our senior leadership team -- currently our Senior Vice President and General Counsel; Corporate Vice President Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer; and Vice President, Corporate Development and Global Head M&A are women. Honeywell has a solid plan for hiring, retaining, and promoting women throughout our organization globally.
The two-day conference was attended by 350 professional Indian women in engineering and technology, and offered opportunities for networking and attendance at highly-rated professional development sessions. Expert presenters and senior leadership panels provided valuable education and content on topics such as mentoring, engineering innovation, data science, wearable technology, volunteering, and more. Opening keynote speaker Abha Banerjee, best-selling leadership author, speaker and thought innovator, kicked off the successful event, saying, “Nothing survives in its original form, you need to constantly be improving. Success never travels in a straight line."
