A record-breaking 14,000 students attended the event, one of Honeywell's first community service initiatives in the UAE, where more than 500 STEM projects and inventions from schools across the region were on display.
Norm Gilsdorf, President of Honeywell High Growth Regions in the Middle East, Russia, and Central Asia, was interviewed on Dubai One TV, where he discussed the importance of programs like Think Science and the value of cultivating the next generation of scientists.
“The UAE 2021 vision outlines the need for private and public sectors to work together to create a competitive economy that will be driven by knowledgeable and innovative Emirati talent,” Gilsdorf said. “Delivering this vision starts here with the Emirates Foundation. Honeywell is pleased to make a meaningful contribution to the Think Science program and inspire today's students to become passionate about building innovations that create a world where quality of life is always improving.”
Honeywell's presence included an interactive booth highlighting the company's technologies and services. Students could try virtual reality simulators and take home Google cardboard samples to download Honeywell apps.
During the three day event, thousands of participants also viewed a new video called “ 7 Wonders of Honeywell” which shows Honeywell technologies at work in some of UAE's most iconic buildings and innovations, including the Airbus A380, the Dubai Metro system and the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building.
