Honeywell China Unveils Innovation Wall of Fame to Recognize its Most Prolific Inventors

This October, a new Honeywell China Innovation Wall of Fame was unveiled in the Company’s Shanghai Zhangjiang campus as part of its first Inventor’s Night celebration in China. At the ceremony, 31 talented inventors were inducted onto the Innovation Wall of Fame, honoring individuals who have been granted patents since they joined Honeywell.

Among the inventors is Richard Hou from Honeywell’s Safety and Productivity Solutions (SPS) business who holds more than 50 granted patents making him the most prolific inventor among all active employees in Honeywell China. Richard’s inventions and innovations mainly focus on illumination, object detection and laser barcode scanner technology.

“I take great pleasure that my ideas transform into differentiated technologies that address customers’ pain points and deliver value for both the Company and customers.” said Richard at the ceremony.

His most recent patent is for the innovations to the laser technology based barcode scanner, which is an excellent example of Honeywell “Becoming the Chinese Competitor (BCC)” strategy. The scanner ensures Honeywell’s products are delivered to local customers successfully.

“Innovation is the only way to help a technology company achieve a sustainable competitive edge. I am counting on our teams to transform inventions into solutions, and help Honeywell grow into a premier cyber-industrial company.” said Krishna Mikkilineni, Honeywell Senior Vice President of Engineering, Operations and IT.

“I would like to congratulate and thank our inventors who have supported Honeywell China’s business growth over the years.” said Stephen Shang, President and CEO of Honeywell China, “Moving forward, I expect more and more innovation and inventions from our talented technologists and engineers to support China’s Belt and Road strategy and accelerated efforts to 'go out'- transferring China-developed innovations to the rest of the world.”
