Honeywell Hometown Solutions Wins Three Major CSR Awards in China

Air pollution will be regarded as one of the toughest challenges for China for the foreseeable future. Most people spend 80 percent of their day indoors. That's why Honeywell is highly committed to improving indoor air quality and dedicated to the development of innovative products in that will increase the quality and security of daily life.So does Honeywell Hometown Solutions, the company's corporate citizenship initiative. Recently, Honeywell China has won three impactful CSR Awards, in particular, for its indoor air quality education efforts across the country.
2016 International Safety Media Award (ISMA) At the 12th World Conference on Injury Prevention & Safety held in Finland in October 2016, Honeywell China and its NGO partner Safe Kids Worldwide received “2016 International Safety Media Award (ISMA)” for their indoor air quality (IAQ) educational video and kids safety education efforts in China. This education video for kids was jointly produced by Honeywell China and Safe Kids Worldwide in 2015 based on their survey of “Chinese Families' Perspectives On Indoor Air Quality at Home”. It won the most premium golden award in CSR video category at the conference, which brings together the world's leading researchers, practitioners, policy-makers and advocates in the field of injury prevention and safety to debate, discuss and share information and experiences.“Over the past 12 years, Safe Kids at Home has been dedicated to preventing unintentional child injury and benefited over 3 million kids and families across China,” said Lydia Lu, Honeywell Asia High Growth Regions Communications Vice President. “To cope with the pressing air pollution, especially the often-neglected indoor air pollution, we brought indoor air quality into Safe Kids at Home curriculum in China, working cautiously together with the schools and parents to enhance the awareness of protection and ensure kids' growing in a safe and unpolluted indoor environment.”
Golden Flag Award &endash; 2016 Most Influential CSR Programs in China Top 10
In October 2016, Honeywell China also won “Golden Flag Award 2016 Most Influential CSR Programs in China Top 10” for its innovative science and math education programs, including Honeywell Initiative for Science and Engineering (HISE), Honeywell Educator at Space Academy (HESA). The annual award is initiated by China International Public Relations Association (CIPRA) and 17PR.com, one of China's most popular public relations websites. Honeywell won Top 10 from 598 submissions this year. Honeywell aids and encourages middle school teachers to participate in the Honeywell Educators at Space Academy program, which helps teachers better cultivate China's future scientists and engineers. The Honeywell Initiative for Science and Engineering (HISE) Program, another long-standing CSR initiative, is held each year at a Chinese university and presents Nobel laureates and Honeywell technology leaders in order to inspire innovation among Chinese college students. 2016 CSR China Education Award
Honeywell also won “2016 CSR China Education Award” in October 2016. Initiated by the Ministry of Education of China, this is one of most influential corporate social responsibility awards in the field of education in China. It serves as a platform to showcase best practices of CSR education promotion and calls for proactive private public partnership to eliminate education inequality and promote a quality education in China. Honeywell's flagship CSR program Safe Kids at Home, has won this year's award for its relentless efforts and innovation in drive children safety education in China. Partnering Safe Kids Worldwide, Honeywell's Safe Kids at Home Program has benefited more than 3 million children from 3,000 primary schools in 28 cities across China by educating on important safety measures through various online and offline activities.
