This unique cooling project was recently recognized by at the RAC Cooling Industry Awards, the largest award event for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, focused on spotlight leading innovations and environmental successes. Honeywell and Tesco received the Best Retail Project award for using Solstice technology to improve energy efficiency, performance and environmental care.
“The Retail Project of the Year award demonstrates Honeywell's ability to support our customers' aggressive environmental and energy efficiency goals,” said Robert Kebby, refrigeration global business manager for Honeywell Fluorine Products. “We have proven we can execute large and complex projects with no interruption to supermarket operations. More and more supermarket companies are using Solstice N40 in large-scale store conversions, as it is the ideal solution to help meet their energy efficiency and sustainability goals.”
To ensure the success of the Tesco conversion project, Honeywell worked closely with its partners A-Gas, Climate Center, Carter Synergy and Space Engineering. These partners provided the necessary testing facilities, delivery and collection services of new and reclaimed refrigerants, as well as technical expertise for conversions.
Global adoption of Solstice products has resulted in the reduction of more than 47 million metric tons of greenhouse gases to date, the equivalent of eliminating emissions from 10 million vehicles. Honeywell estimates that increasing global adoption of Solstice products could reduce emissions by up to 475 million metric tons of carbon dioxide by 2025 or the equivalent or removing 100 million cars from the road for one year.
Solstice N40 is the supermarket industry's most commonly used, lowest-global-warming, nonflammable refrigerant. For more information, visit www.honeywell-refrigerants.com.
