She's purifying air and water

Li Wang helps make the air we breathe, water we drink and food we eat become cleaner.

She develops filtration materials, advanced sensing technologies and connected system solutions to help people live in a safe and healthy environment.

Based in Shanghai, China; here is her #futureshaper story.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be an engineer or a scientist so I could make the world better with my knowledge.

What do you do?

I’m helping make a better world with cleaner air and water and fresh, healthy food. A world that is smarter and more convenient for your daily life.

What gets you excited about coming to work every day?

There are always new challenges, new things I need to study, new customers and talented colleagues I can always learn from.

What do you wish people knew about Honeywell?

Honeywell is full of opportunities and resources as long as you are curious, eager to learn from others and work hard.

How has Honeywell changed since you began working here?

Honeywell is becoming more aggressive and more connected on technology. It is transforming from a hardware company to a software company.

Why is the future important?

You need to see the future to believe what you are doing now.

If you were a fortune reader, what would you predict as the future of your industry?

People will live under a blue sky, drink uncontaminated water and eat fresh food from safe farms.

What advice do you have for someone who wants to follow in your footsteps?

Take leadership and entrepreneurship roles within the company and get things done, no matter what level you are.

What do you for fun?

Travel with my family to climb mountains and hike. I also practice yoga and read philosophy books regularly.
