MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 23, 2010 Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today introduced TrueCLEAN™, an enhanced whole-house air cleaning system. TrueCLEAN delivers the best of both media and electronic technology with high efficiency, low pressure drop and long filter life providing the contractor the opportunity for profit-building replacement sales.Particles enter the TrueCLEAN system through an ionizing array, where they become electrically charged. Next, particles travel into the media filter where they're captured in the media fibers. A continuous charge ensures dirt is loaded 360 degrees around the filter fibers. Once particles are captured, the charging strips on opposite sides of the carbon-tipped media filter continue to charge and deactivate up to 99 percent** of airborne particles and contaminants passing through the system."TrueCLEAN enhanced air cleaners deliver cleaner air by taking a high-airflow media filter and enhancing it with electronic technology," said John Tyhacz, vice president and general manger for Honeywell's Home Comfort and Energy Systems business. "The result is a MERV 15* efficiency that improves over time."TrueCLEAN is virtually maintenance free. Unlike other electronic air cleaners that require annual vacuuming and filter cell washing, maintaining TrueCLEAN is as easy as replacing the media filter every six to 12 months and lightly dusting the ionizing points with a paintbrush.Additional features of TrueEASE include:Common-Sense LED Interface indicates when the system is filteringUniversal Application allows the TrueCLEAN to work with all gas, oil and electric forced air furnaces and air conditioning systemsHoneywell TrueCLEAN Air Cleaning SystemCustomized Label Program generates lasting customer relationships through product customizationFor more information on Honeywell's TrueCLEAN enhanced whole-house air cleaning system or other indoor air quality products or controls, please visit International ( is a Fortune 100 diversified technology and manufacturing leader, serving customers worldwide with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes and industry; automotive products; turbochargers; and specialty materials. Testing performed at third party labs on certain virus and bacteria applied to filter disks and then exposed to an electric field. Tested virus show a reduction of virus numbers of greater than 99% by 8 hours of exposure. Tested bacteria show a reduction of bacteria numbers of greater than 99% by 24 hours. Organisms tested: human and avian influenza virus, human cold virus surrogate and others. Test available upon request.
