MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 14, 2011 Honeywell (NYSE: HON) recently introduced the Prestige® 2.0 IAQ comfort system, a programmable thermostat system that meets the needs of both residential and light commercial applications. The two-piece design includes the thermostat and an equipment interface module (EIM) and communicates with each other using RedLINK™ wireless technology. The Prestige 2.0 IAQ guides contractors through the system set-up process. Contractors can select "residential" or "commercial" using the installer programming feature. If "commercial" is selected, the thermostat will use commercial language and scheduling features, control algorithms to meet building codes and Title 24 compliance, offer override durations, occupancy initiation, and economizer/time-of-day control."Contractors who service residential and light commercial customers no longer need to carry two controls on their truck," said John Tyhacz, vice president and general manager for Honeywell's Home Comfort and Energy Systems business. "With Prestige, one control is always the right control."All Prestige 2.0 IAQ systems come standard with both a return and a discharge air temperature sensor to measure Delta T, allowing the contractor to set an alert for their customers to contact them when the system is not operating as expected. It also keeps a history of thermostat setting changes including temperature, system, installer setup and alerts activity to help contractors immediately pinpoint potential system issues.2- Honeywell Prestige 2.0 IAQFurthermore, Prestige 2.0 IAQ offers two assignable inputs and three assignable outputs. The inputs can be used for wired sensors, remote setback or dry contacts to trip pre-packaged or customer alerts such as full drain pan or water leak. The outputs can be used for any indoor air quality product or to meet customer needs for equipment to stage in a particular way.Additionally, the Prestige 2.0 works with a number of RedLINK accessories, including:Wireless Humidity Control Provides users the ability to control humidity from the Prestige IAQ 2.0 without running new wires to the living space.Wireless Indoor Air Sensor Gives users the ability to change the sensing location of the thermostat, average temperature in large rooms or monitor temperature and humidity in separate spaces to provide additional comfort and protection.Wireless Outdoor Air Sensor Displays the outdoor temperature and humidity on the Prestige IAQ 2.0 and Portable Comfort ControlPortable Comfort Control Allows users to make adjustments from anywhere in the conditioned space and can be used to change the set temperature in any zone in the system from anywhere in the home or building.RedLINK Internet Gateway Connects to any RedLINK-enabled thermostat to remotely monitor and access an HVAC system from a PC, smart phone or tablet device with Total Connect Comfort Services. To learn more about Prestige IAQ 2.0 and other energy-saving Honeywell products for the home, visit International ( is a Fortune 100 diversified technology and manufacturing leader, serving customers worldwide with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes and industry; automotive products; turbochargers; and specialty materials.
