Honeywell's Wireless Outdoor Reset System Improves Boiler Efficiency up to 15 Percent, Generates Energy SavingsThree-Step Set-Up Process Cuts Contractor Installation TimeAug 30, 2012Contact:HoneywellJan Baaden Gee763-954-4375jan.baadengee@honeywell.comMINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 30, 2012 Honeywell (NYSE: HON) introduced the Wireless AquaReset® an outdoor reset system designed to improve boiler efficiency, reduce contractor installation time and generate additional energy savings for homeowners. "Previous energy-saving systems have been cumbersome and time-consuming for contractors to install," said Rich Simons, director of product marketing, Honeywell Residential Combustion Control. "With the Honeywell Wireless AquaReset, contractors can now offer an energy savings device that can be installed quickly."The AquaReset maximizes energy savings by connecting a Honeywell electronic Boiler Control and the Honeywell AquaReset module to an outdoor sensor via RedLINK™. The module makes easy installation possible since it wirelessly connects with the outdoor temperature sensor eliminating the need for time-consuming drilling and wiring through walls.Once connected, the boiler automatically adjusts its set-point based on the outdoor temperature providing all the necessary heat to maintain optimum comfort levels and minimizing boiler energy loses during off cycles. The Honeywell Wireless AquaReset is designed to improve efficiency by automatically resetting boiler water temperature based on outdoor temperature. Lowering the boiler temperature results in longer run-cycles and therefore is a more efficient use of energy. The result is energy savings for homeowners while still maintaining a comfortable living space.Additional AquaReset features include:Outdoor reset feature resets boiler temperature based on the outdoor temperature improving boiler efficiency.RedLINK Wireless Technology provides strong, reliable connection and easy installation.Warm weather shutdown causes the boiler to turn off when the outdoor temperatures exceed a specified value. The domestic hot water override ensures that a call for hot water receives priority and homeowner needs are not ignored.Anti-short cycle allows the selection of a minimum delay time between burner cycles to reduce stress on equipment. Kits are available for retrofit applications and new installations. The Honeywell Wireless AquaReset kit, which includes an outdoor temperature sensor and Honeywell AquaReset module, is available for installations where a boiler already features an enabled Boiler Control. A domestic hot water kit is available for some applications that require hot water override. For more information on Honeywell's AquaReset Outdoor Reset System and complete line of outdoor reset controls, visit http://www.customer.honeywell.comHoneywell International (www.honeywell.com) is a Fortune 100 diversified technology and manufacturing leader, serving customers worldwide with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes and industry; automotive products; turbochargers; and specialty materials.
