PHOENIX – Aug. 12, 2013 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced that Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc. (HTSI) was awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract with firm-fixed-price provisions from the Navy for technical and analytical support services for the Office of Compliance and Assessment.
Operating out of Suffolk, Va., HTSI is responsible for Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI) and Cyber Security Inspections in support of U.S. Fleet Cyber Command’s Cyber Security Inspection Certification Program. The CCRI is an in-depth inspection and analysis of a ship or shore command’s network security posture to ensure that vital information is protected from cyber attacks.
HTSI was chosen because of its depth of core competencies in certification and accreditation of Department of Defense (DoD) information technology (IT) systems, and its established and proven processes that provide consistently high levels of quality control and process stability. Honeywell identified information assurance and cyber security as emerging needs across the DoD and other federal agencies more than 15 years ago.
Cyber security is the critical enabler to ensure mission success. Certification and accreditation of the Navy’s infrastructure is essential to ensuring the Navy’s C5ISR (command, control, communication, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) can be accomplished with the correct balance of confidentiality, integrity and availability of data. The Defense Information Security Agency has authorized Fleet Cyber Command and 10th Fleet to manage and perform its CCRI, the first DoD service branch to manage this inspection on its own.
