Zio® Lite Wall Module Drastically Reduces Installation Time for ContractorsNov 17, 2013MINNEAPOLIS &emdash; Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced today the expansion of its Zio® product portfolio with the new Zio Lite wall module which utilizes Sylk™ technology, reducing installation time for contractors. With its sleek design and easy-to-use interface, the Zio Lite offers a model that is packaged with temperature, humidity, and CO2 sensing, all on two wires. In the past, similar products had as many as eight to 12 wires, making installation time longer. For HVAC contractors, the Zio Lite provides the opportunity to drive more jobs with the Honeywell Spyder, and decrease labor hours per job which will, in turn, drive a higher profit.Key features of the Honeywell Zio Lite include:&emdash; Sylk-enabled which, as mentioned, reduces wires to two, saving time on installation&emdash; Integrated CO2, temperature and humidity sensors combined into one model which reduces number of units on the wall&emdash; Integrated CO2 sensor enables indoor air quality to be met and demand control ventilation strategies to be implemented, reducing operating costs&emdash; Easy-to-use interface which can adjust the set point, temperature and more using state of the art CapSense™ technologySylk is a two-wire polarity-insensitive bus that provides power and communication between a Sylk-enabled controller, such as Honeywell's Spyder™ controller to a Sylk-enabled device, like Zio Lite without having to run a ton of wires and use up inputs and outputs (I/O) on the controller."Zio Lite is a great addition to our family of Sylk-enabled devices which give contractors an option to lower their total installed cost," said Andres Caballero, General Manager of Global Field Devices at Honeywell. "Zio Lite uses Sylk technology which allows peripheral devices such as wall modules, sensors, actuators, and I/O modules to be easily added to controllers, allowing contractors to do more with less while drastically saving them time."For more information about Honeywell's Zio Lite wall module, please visit www.buildingcontrols.honeywell.com.Honeywell (www.honeywell.com) is a Fortune 100 diversified technology and manufacturing leader, serving customers worldwide with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes and industry; turbochargers; and performance materials.
