Honeywell Chairman and CEO Dave Cote once again appears on Barron’s annual list of the world’s best CEOs, his third consecutive year on the list.
Barron’s cites Cote’s transformation of Honeywell as the reason for his inclusion on the list, crediting him with redefining how to manage an industrial company. The list notes Cote’s efforts to enhance employee relations through the creation of a One Honeywell culture, the terrific financial performance of the company with a 458% total shareowner return from the start of 2003 to the end of 2014, and his leadership in addressing the U.S. national debt crisis. Cote is also credited with driving the Honeywell Operating System (HOS), which is bringing greater efficiency to the company’s factory floors.
Cote joins 29 global leaders, including Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Berkshire Hathaway’s Warren Buffet, Google’s Larry Page, and Apple’s Tim Cook, on the annual list, which is created based on the views of Barron’s reporters and editors with insights from investors, analysts, and industry executives. Key criteria for consideration include financial soundness, employee motivation, innovative products, and maintaining consistent profit growth and shareholder gains.
Barron’s 2015 Top CEOs list appears on the cover of the March 23 issue.
