Shane Tedjarati, President of Honeywell Global High Growth Regions (HGRs), recently attended the ASEAN Leadership Forum (ALF) in Ho Chi Minh city during a visit to Vietnam. Tedjarati shared his leadership experience on “lead and leap forward in HGRs” with 30 ALF participants from seven ASEAN countries and participated on a panel with U.S. ASEAN Business Council Vice President Mike Michalak, former U.S Ambassador to Vietnam. Mai Trang Thanh, president of Honeywell Indochina, moderated the discussion around political, economic, and talent landscapes in Vietnam and other ASEAN countries. ALF brings together potential leaders with strong performance in the region and gives them the opportunity to learn from senior leaders, exchange business growth ideas, and meet with local government officials and customers.
Tedjarati, Thanh, and other Honeywell country presidents including Briand Greer, President of South East Asia, Alex Pollack, President of Indonesia, and Eric Wagner, President of Japan, led the ALF delegation for a customer meeting with Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong, Vice President of Vietjet. Tedjarati and the group also met with Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Mayor of Ho Chi Minh city, and other officials from local authorities. During the meeting, the Mayor shared about the city’s development in the past years, as well as the plan to transform Ho Chi Minh city into a financial and economic hub of the country. Honeywell representatives reiterated the company’s commitment to be Ho Chi Minh city’s strategic consultant and enabler for the city’s transformation.
“Ho Chi Minh City is one of the most dynamic cities in the world, and Honeywell would like to bring our world-leading technologies and expertise, especially on city surveillance, smart city, smart building,” said Tedjarati. “We do hope to make contributions to the city’s transformation and development towards a cleaner, safer, more secure, energy efficient and productive environment.”
During the one day visit in Ho Chi Minh city, Tedjarati also sat down with HTV9’s talk show, the most popular local media channel. During the interview, Tedjarati shared Honeywell’s more than a decade history with robust business growth in Vietnam.
