Honeywell and the China International Contractors Association (CICA)
jointly hosted a high profile meeting with more than 20 leading Chinese engineering procurement and construction contractors (EPC) during the 7th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum in Macau, China last month. The event showcased support for the "One Belt, One Road" initiative that aims to build cooperation among Asean, Central Asian and European countries to redirect China overcapacity and capital towards development of regional infrastructure and improvements of trade and relations.
President Stephan Shang said, "Honeywell is well positioned to support Chinese government’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative through its unique China growth strategy and portfolio. Under our 'East for East and East to Rest' strategies, we follow the growth, proactively advocating locally developed innovation and partnering with leading Chinese companies to go out to explore the opportunities in high growth regions across the globe, especially in international infrastructure development."

and Australia Long Bay Hospital. In 2009, Honeywell was selected by Huawei, a leading Chinese Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and EPC management company, as its automation provider to support the Uzbekistan-China Gas Pipeline Line A/B Project and it was selected again in 2012 for Huawei's Line C Project, which is a pipeline project supplying natural gas from Central Asia to China. The Honeywell system helps increase operators' access to information and help them make faster, better-informed decisions to promote the integrity and safety of the pipeline.
During the event, Shang also shared Honeywell’s wide offerings across verticals and profound experience both in domestic and overseas EPC. Honeywell offers a wide range of Chinese-made, world-class solutions from automation controls, energy efficiency, safety and security, resolving key and critical issues around the world as the middle class continues to grow placing higher demands on infrastructure and technology. With 23 branches and over 32,000 local staff in the countries along the “silk road”, Honeywell is fully prepared to further contribute to “One Belt, One Road” Initiative to benefit people and livelihood in the region.
The International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum came into being in 2010 along with deepened cooperation between China and other countries on international infrastructure investment and construction. The organization includes more than 8000 delegates from nearly 100 countries and regions and international organizations. Jointly organized by China International Contractors Association and Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute
with approval from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, this year’s forum gathered more than 40 ministerial officials in charge of infrastructure investment and construction, leading entrepreneurs and renowned industry associations to discuss industry topics and seek cooperation under Chinese government’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative.
