Assistant General Counsel of Honeywell Security and Fire Yaneris M. Rosa
was recently honored by Chambers and Partners
with the Future Leader – Gender Diversity (In-House) Award for her commitment to enhancing diversity in the legal profession. Yaneris was selected based on the breadth of her career progression, commitment to her work, positive impact to her community, advancement for diversity and minority inclusion and the originality in which she has tackled issues in her remit. celebrate the achievements of trailblazers who have brought dramatic improvements to the legal profession, highlighting the advancement of gender and minority inclusion, LGBT, pro bono and corporate social responsibility issues.
Yaneris is leading the way in promoting the need for diversity and inclusion in the Law department, for both women and minorities, through her contributions to Honeywell’s Legal and Government Relations Diversity and Inclusion Council. The Diversity and Inclusion Council is committed to diversity in its broadest definition and brings Human Resources efforts to ensure diversity hiring and retention are fulfilled under the Council’s umbrella. Yaneris leads the Council’s current initiatives, and continually pushes for innovative ways to expand the Law department’s pipeline of diverse candidates. In addition, Yaneris serves on the law department’s in‐house Continuous Legal Education program, geared toward providing a platform for law firms to introduce their diverse legal talent.
Yaneris is very passionate about education initiatives, especially those that provide opportunities for minority children and those from underprivileged backgrounds. She mentors high school, college and law students and serves on the Board of the Harvard Law School Black Alumni Network
. She serves on the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI
) Alumni Association Trustee Council and the Teaching Firms of America-Professional Preparatory Charter School (TFOA
) Board of Trustees. Yaneris also serves on the Board of the Council on Legal Education Opportunity (CLEO
), which is committed to diversifying the legal profession by expanding legal education opportunities to minority, low-income and disadvantaged groups; and also serves on the Advisory Board of the Mariposa DR Foundation
, an organization that focuses on community based solutions to end poverty in her native Dominican Republic.
