HTS India Successfully Maintains CMMI Level 5 Appraisal in Non-Software Programs

Honeywell Technology Solutions (HTS) India has recently been re-appraised for Capability Maturity Model Integration® (CMMI) Level 5, using SCAMPI “A” methodology; making it the first and only Honeywell entity to be certified consecutively for non-software programs since 2007.

CMMI Level 5 is the highest maturity of an organization’s product development process, adopted globally. CMMI distinguishes building capability as a top priority for companies to improve performance and speed past competition.

“CMMI Maturity Level 5 is a key differentiator, providing Honeywell with a competitive advantage that helps us achieve our long-term business objectives," said Dr. Akshay Bellare, Vice President and General Manager, Honeywell Technology Solutions India. “HTS India stands out among industry peers for its capability and maturity at Level 5. Our programs in India demonstrate our commitment to business objectives, burning platforms, continuous process and quality improvements, as we accelerate innovation for Honeywell.

Previously, both software and non-software programs were appraised together for CMMI as an integrated approach. 2016 marked a shift in this approach with software and non-software programs being appraised independently of each other at HTS India.

HTS India has been focusing on adopting best practices and prediction models which resulted in product and process quality improvement and cycle time reduction. This process rigor is consistently executed in programs across Honeywell businesses and Enterprise IT to improve efficiency, effectiveness and nurture a culture for innovation.

A dedicated task team will now be established at HTS globally to strengthen CMMI harmonization with Agile, Honeywell Operating System (HOS) and Velocity Product Development (VPD). The team will leverage the strength of all these enablers to create a robust product development platform for accelerated innovation and business growth at Honeywell.
