China’s leading aircraft manufacturer – the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) – honored Honeywell with its 2016 Supplier of the Year – Performance Excellence Silver Award during the Annual Supplier Conference, held on March 21. COMAC recognized Honeywell for its outstanding support of China’s landmark C919 jetliner and ARJ21 regional aircraft programs.
“The award recognizes the innovation, dedication and hard work of Honeywell employees from the Asia Pacific region and across the company,” said APAC President Steven Lien, who accepted the award from Mr. Zhao Yuerang, COMAC Vice President. “COMAC and Honeywell have built a strong working partnership based on our operational performance and the leading-edge technologies that we’re supplying for these two very exciting aircraft programs.”
Awards presented at the Annual Supplier Conference are the highest honors that COMAC gives to its supplier-partners. Honeywell was specifically cited for outstanding performance during 2016, especially in the critical areas of quality, on-time delivery, on-site support, and team collaboration.
“Meeting customer’s requirements is essential to our ongoing relationship with COMAC and to our long-term success and growth in this region,” said Jeff Rollins, APAC Vice President for Original Equipment Manufacturers. “We are proud of this prestigious award and we remain committed to continuous improvement of quality and delivery performance as we look forward to the first flight of the C919.”
Honeywell provides four major systems for the C919 program: the flight control, auxiliary power, air data and inertial reference, and wheels, tires and brake systems.
