Dave Cote on Growth and Innovation

Our executive chairman discussed global economy and innovation in the digital revolution at the International Economic Forum of the Americas

Recently, Honeywell Executive Chairman, Dave Cote, attended the 23rd Annual International Economic Forum of the Americas: Conference of Montreal to discuss major current economic issues, growth and innovation.

During an interview alongside Paul Taylor, President and CEO, Fitch Group, Cote discussed the global economy, how government can enable business growth, and innovation in the digital revolution.

“This century is going to be just as traumatic as the last century was, but in a different way… I don’t think there could be a more exciting time. If you take a look at [Honeywell’s] 23,000 engineers, you would find that about half of them are developing software—software that ends up being applied in chemical, mechanical and electrical processes… The amount of change we’re going to see in this century is just huge, and we can’t even fathom what it’s going to look like. It’s exciting.”

More than 4,000 participants and 200 speakers representing more than 50 countries attended the conference, which strives to foster exchanges of information, promote discussion on current economic issues and encourage international discourse between world leaders, the private sector, international organizations and civil society.

In June 2016, Cote was named as a member of the board of governors of the Conference of Montreal. He has been honored as a speaker and co-chair at the conference since 2015.
