ROLLE, Switzerland – June 20, 2016 – Honeywell, the leading global developer of automotive turbochargers, is back in the winner’s circle for the 17th consecutive year at the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans in France, boosting the Porsche Team to its second consecutive victory.
Honeywell swept the podium in helping the #2 Porsche 919 Hybrid in the Le Mans Prototype 1 class take the overall victory. Additionally, the #68 Ford GT win in the Grand Touring Endurance (GTE) class.

Honeywell’s gasoline DualBoost™ turbo technology helped Porsche with 20 to 30 percent better transient response for improved acceleration out of corners and more steady state engine power from higher turbine efficiency. This lighter weight package is 10 to 20 percent smaller than an equivalent standard gasoline turbo. This year, the gasoline DualBoost turbo increased its efficiency, allowing the team to generate additional electrical power for the race car.
The Ford GT made a successful return to Le Mans with a 3.6L twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 with Honeywell turbochargers that were custom engineered for the constant high temperatures and boost pressures encountered on the race track and featured Honeywell’s lightweight ball-bearing technology.
