Craig Balis, VP of Honeywell Transportation Systems
“Hello, I’m Craig Balis, VP of Honeywell Transportation Systems. I’m at the 2016 Commercial Vehicles Exhibition in Hanover Germany, where Honeywell is showcasing its on and off highway tech, during one of the worlds largest shows.
We have turbo technologies that are the industry’s standards for both on and off highway power chains, helping to reduce fuel consumption, increase power density and improve liability and time and service for the vehicle fleet owner.
It’s an exciting time, as technology and regulation are driving industry to new levels of perfection. Here in Hanover, we are connecting our solutions to our customers needs. Some of those key on and off innovations we are displaying, include: an axial 2 ways system, which represents optimum performance for heavy duty long haul trucks, needing fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions compliance. Key features such as a fixed vane, sector divided turbulence stage, show significant efficiency gains. A serial 2 stage turbocharger with optimum aerodynamics to improve efficiency and trans response. This was just launched at the new MAN 12.4 liter engine.
A new aero system for turbo compounding, launched in North America, achieves the efficiency needed to improve fuel economy and help support robust and innovative power train compounding strategies.
Honeywell electric products are the next wave of enablers, for achieving more stringing global targets. With our automotive boosting experience and the research and develop resources Honeywell Aerospace we’ll continue to invest in different technologies, supporting the needs of our customers.
Honeywell Automotive Software, with its OnRamp design suite, cyber security software tools and IVM management, for which our experts are bringing model based diagnostic and prognostic tools which can support significant savings by helping to eliminate trial and error development rates and warranty issues. “
