The Readers Have Spoken: Here Are the Hearing and Fall Protection Winners

Two of our safety devices took top honors in the ISHN Readers' Choice Awards

Readers of Industrial Safety & Hygiene News (ISHN) chose two Honeywell products for the magazine's annual Readers Choice Awards: Miller TurboLite Edge personal fall limiters and the Howard Leight Sync Wireless earmuff. A full list of the winners is included here.

Randy Green, publisher of ISHN, said that a record 11,000-plus readers cast votes in the competition, which spotlighted the technological innovations and practical merits of new industrial safety gear introduced in the last year.

    Here are the winners:

    Fall Protection: Miller TurboLite Edge

A new line of personal fall limiters (PFLs) designed to resist surface abrasion that can cause fall protection lifelines to sever unexpectedly while in use, which could lead to severe injuries or death for construction workers and others working at height.

Hearing Protection: Howard Leight Sync Wireless Earmuff

A protective headset that uses Bluetooth wireless technology to filter noise to safe levels while allowing workers to take phone calls, download data or listen to music while keeping their hands busy with the job at hand.

“ISHN recognizes the R&D that continues to be invested in the market with the 88 products entered in this year's Readers' Choice Awards,” said Green. “The Readers Choice awards put a spotlight on the products and solutions that promise to make a real difference in furthering the goal of worker safety."

Said Ken Schmidt, VP/GM of Honeywell Industrial Safety, “Earning this award is a testament to the market's recognition that Honeywell is committed to making the workplace safer, more productive and profitable, and is investing considerable global resources to make that happen.”
