Darius Adamczyk Receives Corporate Social Responsibility Award
The Foreign Policy Association recognized Honeywell for its citizenship initiatives

“Honeywell has an unwavering commitment to the principle that good business, economic growth, and social responsibility go hand in hand,” Adamczyk said during his acceptance. “Each is a measure of success for today’s corporation, and each is achievable when you build a business on strong bedrock principles.”
The honor cited a long-term track record of humanitarian relief for employees affected by natural disasters as well as science, technology, math and engineering (STEM) programs such as the Honeywell Leadership Challenge Academy and the newly launched STEM Teacher Leadership Program with Georgia Tech; fire safety education in countries such as China and Malaysia; initiatives to provide safe drinking water in India and China; and sustainability efforts in the U.S. and Mexico.
John Waldron, co-head of the Investment Banking Division for Goldman Sachs, shared his remarks: “With his laser focus on quickly moving the company forward, Darius has proven beyond a doubt that he’s the right leader to guide Honeywell into the new digital-industrial era,” he said. “Perhaps equally as important, employees around the world have observed Darius’ passion for speed on corporate citizenship initiatives. This has been particularly true at the humanitarian level.”
“Darius is more than a great business leader,” Waldron continued. “He has demonstrated – to coin the common phrase – that a company can do good while doing well. He exemplifies the blend of innovation and compassion to which all of us can aspire.”
Adamczyk attributed the company’s track record in corporate social responsibility to the spirit and engagement of its employees, including:
- The installation of 130 safe water drinking stations in the Indian state of Telangana, in partnership with Safe Water Network. The stations serve more than 420,000 people.
- More than 3,000 teachers who have been sponsored by Honeywell to attend the U.S. Space and Rocket Center and, in turn, have brought their lessons back to more than 5 million students around the world.
- Nearly $10 million raised by the company and its employees over the past decade for humanitarian relief to provide emergency assistance to employees affected by natural disasters.
“Taking care of our communities is a well-ingrained practice at Honeywell, and many employees around the world – at all levels of the company – take great pride in what we accomplish,” Adamczyk said. “They consider it nothing less than a fundamental reflection of the spirit that makes Honeywell great.”
