Honeywell in the United Arab Emirates

We have a long-standing presence in the United Arab Emirates, operating our diverse portfolio of businesses at two main sites in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Our ambitions are closely aligned with the UAE vision and support ADNOC’s In Country Value (ICV) program.

Advancing Digitalization

As a reflection of our commitment to advancing digitalization in the UAE, we launched the Honeywell Masdar Innovation Center in Abu Dhabi and the Honeywell Technology Experience Center in Dubai. The centers are designed to encourage and contribute to local workforce skills development and serve as a knowledge-transfer hub to deliver world-class training to customers in the region.

The Honeywell Masdar Innovation Center, which was launched in 2019, includes cutting-edge digital solutions for smart buildings and cities, as well as oil and gas processing plants for enhanced safety, reliability and competency within a cybersecure environment. The center helps customers understand how they can use advanced, connected technologies to solve their operational challenges, increase profitability and drive growth. 

The Honeywell Technology Experience Center in Dubai opened in 2018 and includes industry-specific demonstrations that highlight the benefits of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) for different verticals and use-cases including aviation, smart cities, industrial environments, and smart buildings. It is co-located with the Honeywell Industrial Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, a state-of-the-art facility focusing on improving cybersecurity know-how and expertise in the region for critical infrastructure and industrial processes. 

Make it in the Emirates

In Abu Dhabi, our Honeywell Customer Solutions Center is specialized in in-country certified assembly, integration and testing of advanced oil and gas automation technologies. The control systems assembled here serve our customers in the UAE, but are also exported to our customers in Oman, Iraq, Pakistan and Egypt.

In 2020, we partnered with Mubadala’s Strata Manufacturing to manufacture N95 respirators at Strata’s Al Ain facility. This collaboration provides critical personal protective equipment (PPE) for the UAE’s front-line health workers, while transforming the country into an international exporter of respirator masks to help limit the spread of COVID-19 around the world.

Through our diverse portfolio, there are lots of opportunities for Emirati engineers to develop their careers at Honeywell. With training initiatives, we help advance the professional development of Emirati talent and provide them the right technologies and resources to transition into a knowledge-based industry.

Shaping the future

Our collaboration with ADNOC culminated in a 10-year digitalization partnership announced in November 2019 for one of the largest predictive maintenance projects in the oil and gas industry. Our Honeywell Forge asset monitoring and predictive analytics platform deliver the advanced capabilities business leaders need to harness big data to drive more efficient decision-making and exceed business goals. We are proud that ADNOC selected our leading-edge technology to drive innovation and to optimize performance while delivering sustainable returns.
