Our Commitment to IKTVA

As a long-standing partner of the Kingdom, we are proud of our growth story and enthusiastic about the role our technologies can play in enabling Vision 2030.

Our presence dates back to 1948 with the sale of thermostats to the company that would later become Saudi Aramco.

Commitment to Saudization

Headquartered in Riyadh, we have offices in Jeddah, Dhahran, Yanbu, Jazan, Jubail and Dammam. Today, our workforce of approximately 500 employees work across engineering, sales, customer support and advanced manufacturing. Nearly half of these employees are Saudi nationals.

As part of our global commitment to diversity and inclusion, we actively recruit female candidates for all roles. Our graduate engineering program enabled us to increase the number of female hires by 50% in the last two years.

Research and Development Leadership

In support of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts toward economic diversification and localization, we have had a decade long collaboration with Saudi Aramco and King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM).

Since 2011, scientists from Honeywell UOP have been working with professors and researchers from KFUPM in Dhahran on new catalytic processes for producing paraxylene, an aromatic compound used in making textiles, packaging material and containers. The work has been done at a state-of-the-art Honeywell UOP research and development (R&D) laboratory at KFUPM that includes a catalyst testing and screening pilot plant and associated analytical equipment.

As part of our ongoing commitment to encouraging and contributing to local skills development, we established a second facility and integration and training center in the Dhahran Techno Valley in 2012. These capabilities allow us to provide analytical support to our customers in the region with reduced turnaround times and improved responsiveness.

Made in the Kingdom

We are committed to extending technology and innovation across Saudi Arabia. Opening soon will be a new gas detection equipment manufacturing facility in Dhahran to further accelerate local content. The new “Made in the Kingdom” Honeywell factory supports IKTVA’s localization objectives by creating jobs for Saudi nationals that enhance workforce skills and capabilities.

Our Honeywell Customer Solutions Center in Dhahran enables in-country manufacturing and integration for advanced automation technologies and consolidates product assembly and customer testing and acceptance under one roof, making it easier for customers to deploy new technologies around the region.

Graduating Skilled Technicians

As a reflection of our commitment to developing the world’s leading engineering talent, in 2014 we launched the Honeywell Global TECPro Program, aninitiative to help transform Saudi Arabia into a knowledge-based economy through early career development. The 18-month program gives graduates the right tools, knowledge and experience to develop long-term careers with Honeywell.

Training

We remain committed to providing training and professional development opportunities for Saudi nationals. In 2014, we launched UOP University, a program under which scientists from Honeywell UOP deliver graduate level courses on catalysis in refining and petrochemicals to KFUPM students.

In addition, the Honeywell Academy in Dhahran was established to boost the technical skills of process industry professionals in the country and offers courses designed to address the challenges and future requirements of local power and water, oil and gas and automation industries.
